September: True Grit.

True grit.

We have grown up in the PNW. From the ocean and the dense forests of the west coast to the dry desert of the east, we have always been inspired by our natural surroundings and the stories of our ancestors. We often get asked what the inspiration was behind our name, ‘Juniper & Sage’. When we started our business and began to envision what it would become, we knew it needed to represent exactly this- heritage.

When we think of home, we think of family; our grandparents and great-grandparents who came here to homestead in the Columbia Basin. They sacrificed much to clear and break ground in this dusty desert- all for family and the family farm.

At the age of 13, Grandma Connie and Great-Grandpa Rex travelled over 700 miles to Washington in order to build a family farm of their own. Living in a tent, Grandma Connie cooked, washed dishes and clothes, and worked alongside her father in order to create a space that was workable and, eventually, making it their home. Between cultivating the harsh and dry desert and nurturing the people around them, our family created inspiration for the generations to come.

We believe that the legacy of home is timeless and true. We are passionate about creating that sense of legacy for others. In short- design is personal. We believe that your home should tell the story of who you are, where you came from and most importantly, what you hold dear.
